When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.

Wai Ke Botanicals is dedicated to creating high quality small batch liniments, ointments and salves combining the principles of Chinese and Western herbalism .

Wai Ke Botanicals grew out of a desire to return to the construction of slow-medicine, mindfully handcrafting small batches of externally applied botanicals for a variety of applications.  My passion lies in the creation of liniments, soft plasters, ointments, salves, hair + face nutrition and lip balms using herbs from both Western and Eastern traditions.  Many of the recipes used have been handed down through generations and are ages old, while others like the Flower + Root Facial Steam are my own creations, combining herbs from both traditions to create deliciously nurturing blends. Supporting both the musculoskeletal and psycho-emotional systems enables our formulations to interact with our bodies on many levels.

Many of our raw ingredients are sourced from growers in the US through industry trusted sources for herbs who offer high quality organic or wildcrafted herbs, and practice sustainable harvesting methods.  Those herbs we are unable to purchase nationally are carefully sourced from world-wide purveyors.

There are 2 aspects to our products, those that support creative self-care and ask us to slow down and appreciate where we are in a moment of time, and those that help our bodies repair.  As I write this, I wonder if these really are two different things.

Wai Ke Botanicals was born through the support of community and my hope is that's how it will continue to evolve.  I am grateful for the opportunity to form more solid relationships with herbs and the plants around us, and to share that with you.  I hope you'll take a moment to learn with me and enrich us both in the process.

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.
